Mostly a field-blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Capuccio, Minnella Nera, Alicante Bouschet, Minella Bianca. Made in a way that is bright, light and slightly tart with a red cherry, wet stone and earthy tone. Susucaru has a 'mega-gluggable' profile that's difficult not to love on a summer afternoon. 2019 tasting notes showing less fruit than the previous vintage and more minerality. Interesting first impression of spice and a touch of leather like you would expect from a “big wine”, but its Susucaru and so kept light, however, it's the kind of wine that feels more serious than other recent vintages, which will develop over a few hours a little more. Beautiful light expressions of blackberry, liquorice, white pepper, lime, alongside touches of leather & spice.
