Tooth and Nail - VIJFDE ( dry-hopped blend of barrel-aged and stainless pale ales with Brett) / 500mL
Tooth and Nail Brewing Co. (Ottawa, ON)
Pronounced "Veif-de" (fifth in Flemish). A dry-hopped blend of barrel-aged and stainless pale ales with brettanomyces. Wonderfully complex and delicious.
VIJFDE ('fifth' in Flemish, pronounced vief-de) is a dry hopped blend of barrel aged and stainless pale ales with Brettanomyces. This year's blend is comprised of an undisclosed barrel-aged pale beer, Agraria, Brettanonacity, and discretion, and has been dry hopped post-belnd with New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. While funky and complex, this ale drinks easily, with a balanced bitterness and plenty of white wine notes to keep it all in check. Delicious now, this beer should easily age for three years or more, developing complexity along the way.
