When Vienna Lager was first created in the 1800’s by Anton Dreher, it was much different than we’ve come to know it today. A paler beer that used malt that hasn’t been used in a long time. Thanks to research done by @der_ak, Tom @goldfingerbeer learned that @sugarcreekmaltco Edelweiss malt - a winter barley with Czech lineage that Caleb had just revived on his farm - was the same type of barley used in this original Vienna Lager. He wanted to work with it and try to recreate what this beer looked like in its original form. Vienna Classic is True History's version of this beer, and what they refer to as their ‘Historical Vienna Lager’.
