De Dolle - Arabier (Belgian Strong Ale) / 330mL
De Dolle Brouwers (Esen, Belgium)
There is nothing shy about this beer. Coming in at 8%, it is a perfectly hop and yeast forward pale ale that highlights the talents at De Dolle Brouwers. This beer is named after the macaw ('ara' in Flemmish) and, like its namesake, is a sight to behold. Pours with a burnt orange hue with a lasting meringue-like head. The nose is baking spices, marmalade, peach and banana bread. On the palate, the subtle maltiness carries the noble hop flavours with a present but refreshing bitterness. Grapefruit, candied sugar with a grassy and floral finish. Serve between 12-15 C in a wide-mouthed chalice or wine glass. The beer should be poured so the yeast is not roused, leaving 0.5 cm of beer in the bottle. This vintage can be cellared until June 2022 if you wish.
